We help sponsor the educational goals of children
The founding members of the BBQ Buyers Group joined together to form our 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization to help raise funds to supplement the money offered by the challenging market auction sale.
We hope to help offset the expenses incurred by the youth of Texas with raising animals to help them recover costs and apply funds towards their education goals or future animals.
How we help the children
If you've visited the Rodeo Austin Livestock Show and Rodeo, you've likely interacted with the fruits of months of effort by 4H students from across the state of Texas.
At the beginning of each year, students select their projects (livestock rearing or art submissions) and begin preparing for their respective shows at various competitive events. These students put hundreds of hours into the projects.
For livestock rearing projects, students spend money on things such as food, bedding, medical costs, training, and travel costs. Artists purchase the supplies need to produce their artwork. A youth action rewards a year-long culmination of early mornings, late-night feedings, and the invaluable experience of raising an animal.
The youth auction is where the BBQ Buyers Group comes together to support kids for the love, care, and hard work they have put into their agricultural investments by placing bids on winning animals and pieces of art. Monies go to the students who can use these funds to further educational pursuits, recapture expenses, and even fund their next year's project.
